The City of Middletown Police Department's Junior Police Academy is back! In the summer of 2016, our agency, in conjuction with the Parks and Recreation Department, began an innovative program designed to engage juveniles and provide them with insight and experience with basic police procedures. We are proud to say that this academy was an outstanding success, and we now look forward to welcoming three new academy classes this summer. The dates for 2017 are as follows:
July 17th - 21st for 3rd & 4th grades
July 31st - Aug 4th for 5th & 6th grades
Aug 7th - 11th for 7th & 8th grades
In order for application packages to be properly processed, parents will need to attach the authorization and release form, code of conduct form, and the medical form to the application, along with an appropriate letter written by their child requesting to participate in the program. (The requirements for each letter are specific, depending on the age/grade of the child.)
All of the forms MUST be turned into the Parks and Recreations department no later than MAY 1st, accompanied by a fee of $75.00. Any questions should be directed to the Parks and Recreation Department at 845-346-4180.
