The Crime Scene Unit was established in 1990. The Crime Scene Unit is responsible for all crime scenes in the City of Middletown. The Crime Scene Unit is also responsible for processing and maintaining all evidence recovered by all members of the Middletown Police Department.
The unit has one full time Identification Officer who is a certified Crime Scene Technician and a Level III Fingerprint Technician.
The Crime Scene Unit is assisted by Detective Salvatore Garretto, who is currently assigned to the Juvenile Aid Bureau. Detective Garretto is also a certified Crime Scene Technician and a Level II Fingerprint Technician.
